Switzerland is preparing to host international talks on Afghanistan which may involve members of the Taliban.
Reports in yesterday’s NZZ newspaper suggest some preliminary discussions about such a meeting have already taken place.
The talks could cover aid, setting up humanitarian corridors and negotiations with the Taliban.
The foreign ministry is not confirming specific details, but does say this country is interested in being involved.
A spokesman says Switzerland has been in contact with all sides for several years and has hosted donor meetings in the past.
