Switzerland’s fight against corruption is losing ground, according to Transparency International.
The country has slipped to sixth place in the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index, continuing a decade-long decline.
While still scoring highly overall, the NGO warns that perceptions of bribery among public officials are rising, particularly within the business community.
Transparency International says federal efforts fall short and is calling for stronger oversight, greater lobbying transparency, and tougher anti-corruption measures at cantonal and municipal level.
