Switzerland could be open to processing asylum procedures in other countries.
The Justice Minister, Beat Jans, told the German speaking press over the weekend that such a move could be ‘judicious.’
But the minister says it wouldn’t be a model similar to the one proposed by the United Kingdom, which proposed sending asylum seekers to Rwanda.
He stressed the rule of law and fundamental rights need to be respected, and he said any processing in a third country must be carried out by Swiss personnel.
