Switzerland needs to return to a war footing – as it was during the Cold War.
That’s the opinion of a Swiss People’s Party national parliamentarian Benjamin Fischer.
At the height of the cold war in 1969, the government sent a civil defence booklet to all households in the country. It was designed to create ‘inner resilience’. It had advice on how to prepare for a nuclear attack and to how to fight a guerrilla war.
Fischer – who’s 32 years old – says the same threat level as 1969 is already here, and a new updated book is required.
