Around 40 soldiers are in isolation at an aviation school in Payerne in canton Vaud after one was diagnosed with tuberculosis.
The army says it believes the patient was likely to be infected before he started service.
Although tuberculosis isn’t very contagious – the army is testing all the recruits. They will be released if the test is negative.
