Sales of Teslas in Switzerland have collapsed – and it’s believed it’s due to Elon Musk’s close relationship with the Trump administration.
Last month a significantly fewer cars were sold when compared to the same time last year – down 67%.
That’s on the back of a 26% fall in January.
While analysts agree the sales fall may not all be down to the negative perception of Musk – competition is tougher – but it is thought to be the main driver.
Brand reputation expert, Bernhard Bauhofer, told the Blick newspaper that now driving a Tesla is stigmatizing and most owners don’t want to be associate with Musk – those who like his politics are more like to choose a petrol car anyway.
