A computer error meant that thousands of people may have had a purchase debited twice on their cards.
It seems the problem only affected customers of the Banque Cantonale de Genève.
A spokesman for the bank stressed it wasn’t the bank’s fault, but that of an external supplier.
But he reassured the problem was spotted quickly and any incorrect debits would have been reimbursed automatically.
The issue has been fixed now, and the bank urges customers to check their statements.
