Several thousand people took to the streets of Bern on Saturday in support of the Kurdish region in northern Syria.
Demonstrators warned of a worsening humanitarian situation and fears for the future of the autonomous area, chanting “Defend Rojava” and carrying Kurdish flags.
The protest comes just days after a ceasefire was agreed between Kurdish-led forces and Syria’s transitional government - a deal many say remains fragile.
Meanwhile, a Swiss delegation has visited the region, calling for the ceasefire to be respected and urging Bern to stay engaged.
