Three people have died in a crash on the A1 autoroute near Yverdon. A fourth person has been flown to hospital seriously injured.
Police say the car stopped in the middle of the Bruyères tunnel – for as yet unknown reasons – and a truck smashed into the back. The truck driver was not physically injured – but is suffering from shock.
The people in the car – two women aged 65 and 85 and an 85-year-old man died and another injured.
The road was closed for several hours yesterday.
Vaud police are asking for witnesses.
