TPG stike averted

A strike threatened by public transport workers in Geneva has been averted after unions and management struck an agreement.

There will be a 1.2% pay rise across the board – that’s in addition to the 1% already secured at the beginning of the year.

Workers at the age of 59 will be able to cut their working time by 10% - with a matching salary cut - but their pension won’t be affected.

Drivers won’t be required to work more than 4 and a half hours in a row and there’ll be new rules for those working very late or early shifts.

In addition, the TPG will hire 200 new drivers and renovate break rooms and toilets available to drivers along the route.
