Geneva public transport is starting a massive recruitment drive. It needs 200 new drivers before the end of the year.
The reasons are two-fold. Unions have been demanding more reserve drivers to cover for absentees and the TPG says they will need more as the network expands.
In an effort to make sure they hit their targets – there have been some easing of the rules, such as age limits – over 50s will be able to apply – those who wish only to work part time can apply and there’s a push to recruit more women.
