Holiday traffic is building up at one of Switzerland’s key transit routes.
At the Gotthard north portal, queues stretched to eleven kilometres yesterday, with delays of up to one hour and fifty minutes, according to the TCS.
The Federal Roads Office warns congestion will worsen as Easter travel peaks, especially today and tomorrow.
Drivers heading south are urged to consider alternative routes, as heavy traffic from both commuters and holidaymakers is expected to intensify in the coming hours.
