The German train company, Deutsche Bahn, is being slammed for its disorganisation after an express train running from Berlin to Zurich broke down on Sunday in 30 degrees heat and the air conditioning failed.
Passengers were stuck on the train – which had stopped on a bridge – for several hours.
On board was Swiss social media influencer and journalist Yaël Meier with a baby. She says the baby was getting dangerously hot. A group of German soldiers stood around fanning her and her child.
Others collapsed in the heat.
Despite some passengers being taken off by another train after two hours, it was already full. Others had to wait another two hours for the next train.
Even when everyone was off and then at a small station, the complaints continued as there was only one staff member on duty who also didn’t know what was going on.
