Trains get more punctual

Trains are more punctual than ever - and when they are late, the blame normally lies with another country.

Swiss Federal Railways report a record 94.1% of passenger trains arrived on time last year,  up nearly 1% from 2024. 

French-speaking Switzerland saw the biggest gains, while Ticino slipped a bit due to Italian delays and track work. 

Even freight trains are more punctual, thanks to smarter operations. 

Big events like Eurovision and the Women’s Euro didn’t slow things down, though international connections - especially from Germany -  still created some hiccups.
