From today until September, the Quai des Bergues in Geneva will be car-free.
It’s a trial pedestrianization which will last 59 days. The only cars allowed will be those heading for the hotel specifically. The public parking spots are now closed.
Cycling through is also banned. Riders will either have to walk with their bikes or take a detour.
The city is planning to put up some temporary green spaces and deck chairs to allow people to relax next to the water.
If the move is deemed a success, it would be made permanent.
