UBS leaving Switzerland would have negative effect

Geneva's financial sector is warning that losing UBS would be bad for Switzerland, even as its banks post strong growth driven by Middle Eastern fortunes

The Fondation Genève Place Financière said on Tuesday that Geneva wealth managers saw assets under management rise between 3 and 14% in the first half of 2026, with net inflows playing as big a role as market performance.

The Swiss financial centre has also passed CHF 10 trillion in managed assets for the first time, breaking its 2025 record.
