Finance by day – party by night. The Geneva Green Party has a radical idea on how to solve the problems of night owls gathering on the Plainpalais – creating a mess and annoying the locals.
Over the summer many people living around the Plain de Plainpalais have been complaining about revellers meeting overnight, making a noise and leaving a mess.
The Green Party is suggesting create a space in the city’s banking district. They point out that overnight and weekends the area is quiet and few people live there.
The streets could be closed to traffic overnight and at weekends and temporary facilities, such as tents and benches, could be set up which will attract people.
The Greens also say recycling bins should be made available for the waste.
