Van crashes off A1 into woods

(c) SIS Genève

A small van on the A1 autoroute swerved off the road and ended up in the woods near the Coppet exit at 6am on Sunday morning.

Rescuers had to close the road while they used a crane to lift out the vehicle. Precautions were put in pace to prevent leaking fuel seeping into the stream.

There were two occupants, one was taken to hospital for checks, while the other was unharmed.

Police are investigating why the accident happened.
