There were major jams at the Gotthard Tunnel this weekend.
At midday on Saturday, there was a line of 14 kms and drivers had to wait 2 and a half hours to head towards Ticino – and by 4pm, the lines were still there and 10 minutes longer.
The same was true yesterday, drivers had to endure delay of 2 hours to get through.
The heavy traffic is down to Wednesday, May 1st, being a holiday in most European countries – as well as several cantons.
