Will we be in for a drought this summer? Some experts are already worried.
So far this year, it has been particularly dry – despite the recent rains. Rivers and lakes are below the level they should be at this time of year and we’re heading into a very hot weekend, with temperatures expected to get above 28.
April was 2 degrees warmer than the average between 1991 and 2020 – and the 6th warmest on record, which started in 1864, according to MétéoSuisse.
But forecasters say there’s still a chance of more rain. Next week will be cooler – with more rain, especially in German speaking areas.
We’re also entering the stormy season, which could bring a lot of rain.
