The violent storms on Monday night have claimed a life. A woman was driving in Meikirch near Bern when a tree was blown down onto her car.
She died shortly after the arrival of the emergency services.
Police are investigating, but locals say the tree was a beech tree around 80-years-old – and seemed healthy.
