A Patek Phillipe watch that Yoko Ono gave to John Lennon two months before his death belongs to her. That’s a ruling from the Federal Court.
The Tribune de Genève reports, the watch was stolen by Yoko Ono’s driver in 2006 and then resold in 2010 at an auction in Berlin.
The seller was convicted in Germany for handling stolen goods – an arrest warrant is till valid for the driver, who’s believed to be in his home country of Turkey.
In 2015 the watch was seized in Geneva and has been at the heart of a legal claim by Ono since then.
Judges have ruled it does belong to her.
Her lawyer says he’s delighted with the ruling and says federal judges had to consider, US, Turkish, German and Swiss law.
The watch is a limited edition in 18 carat gold and is inscribed ‘just like starting over’. It cost USD 75,000 when purchased.
