Young men are increasingly turning to erectile disfunction drugs – but there are warnings about using drugs bought online.
The trend is backed up with observations from the Everyman Health service and Uroviva urology clinics.
Experts believe young men feel under pressure due to unrealistic expectations because of social media and pornography.
But the regulator Swissmedic says many of the drugs used are illegal or fake products. It says more than half of the seized illegal drug imports are for erectile dysfunction.
Many of these may not have the right dosage and some men are being admitted to hospital with persistent erections, which can be dangerous, say therapists.
