The zoo, La Garenne in Vaud, is due to take in some orphaned lynxes – but the public will never see them.
The animals need care so they can be released into the wild. They’ll be kept away from humans as much a possible so they don’t get too accustomed.
There are only a few centres in Europe that cater for orphaned lynxes.
A new enclosure, away from the public gaze, will be opened.
When the animals are released, they’ll be monitored and given some help.
Game keepers will deliver a freshly killed deer for them every so often for a few weeks.
