Apartment dwellers can use grow kits with artificial light, like Click and Grow, for herbs, lettuce, chillies, or lavender. Balconies and windowsills allow seed starting for chillies or chives, which also attract pollinators.
Swiss chard, especially the colourful “Bright Lights” varieties, grows well in pots or garden beds and can be harvested year-round.
