Twenty people are being treated for poisoning after a fire broke out near an apartment building in Carouge in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Residents were told to leave the building as 40 firefighters tackled the blaze in a garbage bin and made sure the residents were safe. In all more than 50 were on the street.
Some had to be helped off scaffolding which is up around the building at the moment.
Many were unable to return home and had to be rehoused.
An investigation is underway.
