It could be a sign of desperation - or a smart marketing move, but the campaign to throw out all the Covid laws in an upcoming referendum has taken out adverts on several big-name adult websites.
A marketing manager for the campaign is admitting they’ve used about a tenth of the total budget on the sites. He says it’s far cheaper than Facebook or Google.
It could be a smart move, according to one marketing manager. Pornhub is in the top 20 of visited websites in the world and in Switzerland alone gets nearly 9 million views every day – and 40% of visitors are women.
But one downside. Using pre-roll advertising on adult sites is seen as annoying and delays the start of the content.
Polls are suggesting the referendum will fail and the laws will stay.
