Anti G7 groups will demonstrate - even without permission

Tensions are rising in Geneva ahead of the G7 summit in nearby Évian.

The No-G7 coalition says it still hasn’t received authorization to hold a major protest on June 14 - and warns it will go ahead regardless.

Organizers say blocking the march would violate fundamental rights and increase the risk of disorder.

They’re accusing Geneva authorities of refusing dialogue, while the canton says it’s waiting on federal decisions over security and borders.

The planned demonstration is drawing international attention, with activists calling for a large, peaceful mobilization.
