An army shooting instructor has been fined after losing his rifle twice in the same day.
The first time he left the weapon in an unlocked room – it was spotted and someone took it and locked it up.
It was soon returned to him. He then left it in his back pack unattended in a canteen – and again someone spotted it and secured it.
That time he didn’t get it back for a month – but he didn’t report it missing.
That was too much for a judge in Fribourg who fined him CHF 300 for not reporting its disappearance.
