Parents who’d taken their children to what was supposed to be a fun outing in canton Appenzell had a shock when a gust of wind picked up a bouncy castle and lifted it into the air while children were on it.
Some fell off and found themselves underneath when it came back down.
One parent says there was panic.
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. One small girl was taken to hospital for checks, but was quickly released.
Organisers expressed their shock and apologised for the incident, but said they’d checked the weather and no strong winds were forecasts. They say it was a freak gust.
