Residents evacuated from a building on rue Saint-Léger in Geneva’s Old Town will not be able to return, after structural damage forced them out in February.
Experts say the case is highly complex, with repairs expected to take up to three years.
Cracks and signs of instability in the building, which was built in the 14th century, prompted an emergency evacuation, and investigations are still underway to determine the exact cause.
Most residents have now been rehoused, though some remain in temporary accommodation.
Authorities say the focus is on long-term solutions, with major structural work required on the historic building.
