The public broadcaster SRG SSR says nearly 900 jobs could disappear by 2029 as part of a major cost-cutting plan.
The corporation, which employs just over 7,000 people, says retirements will soften the blow, but admit layoffs are still unavoidable.
It blames the cuts on falling advertising revenue, new fee exemptions for companies, and a drop in the licence fee of CHF 35 to CHF 300.
It says it needs to save CHF 270m - around 17 percent of its budget.
The broadcaster is warning the outlook could shift again after the people vote on the “200 francs is enough” initiative in March next year.
