Where Geneva stands on the proposals put forward by the Federal Council has been revealed.
At a press conference, Geneva president Serge Dal Busco says the canton is strongly in favour of compulsory home-working and the introduction of the 2G rules, which means negative tests will not be sufficient for access to public spaces.
But it has rejected calls for the early closure of schools. The canton says the negative impact on education would be too high and it would pose problems for many families.
The canton does seem to be out of step with businesses on the issue of home working.
The Geneva Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses in Geneva both reject forced home working. They say it should remain a business decision and companies have put in place effective safety protocols already.
