A pensioner in canton Schwyz is facing animal cruelty charges after a cat was found shot dead.
It was found on the street in Altendorf by a local resident who alerted the owners. A vet found a projectile in the body, say the police.
The cat was under a year old.
Police believe the pensioner used a low powered Flobert rifle, normally used for indoor target shooting or pest control.
