Three children have died and two adults are in a serious condition after a fire ravaged a house in canton Lucerne.
One other adult escaped with minor injuries.
The fire broke out in the early hours of yesterday in the village of Escholzmatt-Marbach. It was so fierce it could be seen from 14km away, according to a witness.
Police say a family lived in the house; the children’s mother, her partner and her ex-husband; the father of the children.
A local farmer told the press he’s unsure how the house caught fire. He says it was in good condition.
Investigations are underway, but police say that, so far, they’re not treating it as suspicious.
