Two coach drivers caused havoc near the entrance of the Gotthard Tunnel yesterday afternoon.
As is normal, queues had formed at the south entrance, and the drivers thought they had a cunning plan.
They decided to take an exit in the hope to leave the tailback and rejoin the autoroute further down.
Not realising they are not the first people to think of that – which is why the exit was closed.
The busses had to then reverse back onto the main road – only adding to the chaos.
Police say the drivers have been identified and will be fined.
