Conference underway in Geneva

The Building Bridges conference has opened in Geneva, bringing finance houses, NGOs, companies and academics together for three days on climate and sustainability

The event aims to cement Geneva as Europe's leading hub for sustainable finance.

International bodies including the ISSB, the global sustainability accounting standard-setter, have been drawn to the city on the back of it. Ethos director Vincent Kaufmann says Lombard Odier and Mirova pioneered biodiversity and climate funds here.

But Munich-based expert Florian Egli warns the real transition now runs through venture capital and infrastructure funds — where London, Paris, Zurich, Berlin and Stockholm are ahead.
