The government wants to crack down on buying puppies online.
It points out that animals bought online are often imported into the country illegally and may not come with the right vaccinations. They may also be badly socialised.
The Confederation is liaising with Swiss Animal Protection to launch an awareness campaign with the slogan, ‘You Place an Order. Your Dog Pays the Price’.
They also point out that buying a dog is long term commitment and it’s important to meet your future companion first. Responsible dog breeders will encourage that.
