A crane operator has been seriously injured after a construction accident in Stallikon, in canton of Zurich.
Cantonal police say the 60-year-old man was in the cab of a mobile crane dismantling a tower crane yesterday morning, when the truck-mounted vehicle overturned for reasons still unknown.
It then righted itself, but the crane collapsed. The operator was thrown out of his cab.
Colleagues provided first aid before he was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.
Material damage is expected to exceed one million francs.
An investigation is underway.
