Cyberattack on Lake Geneva’s ferry company

The company that runs the boats on Lake Geneva has sent a warning to its customers that their personal details may have been leaked.

The CGN shut down its website Tuesday after detecting suspicious activity.

Investigators say a malicious script had been active for five days before being stopped.

Around 400 customers who made online transactions in that period have been contacted and asked to check their bank statements.

CGN says the risk of fraud is low, especially where two-factor authentication is in place.

The site is n ow back up, with enhanced security.

The company has alerted the Data Protection Commissioner and filed a criminal complaint.
