Authorities in Canton Zurich have seized four Rottweilers after the owners failed to apply for the required permit under the canton’s 2025 Rottweiler ban.
The veterinary office says they ignored repeated demands to submit the new licence application, triggering confiscation orders.
One of the dogs has already been rehomed outside Zurich, and another is in a shelter while the cases of the remaining two are still being processed.
The controversial breed ban was introduced last year after serious attacks on children, and nearly 300 registered Rottweilers remain in the canton under strict controls.
