In a scene that could have come straight from a Lassie movie – two dogs led rescuers to their buried owners after an avalanche on Saturday afternoon.
The humans were walking near Avers in canton Graubünden, near the Italian border, when they were caught up in the avalanche.
The dogs managed to escape and started to bark frantically – a nearby group of hikers heard the commotion and went to investigate.
They spotted a hand poking out of the snow.
The victims were dug out and flown to hospital, suffering mild hypothermia and slightly injured.
