Today’s strike by Geneva transport and public sector workers will make moving around the city and getting anything done difficult today.
There will only be a very limited public transport network, many state run offices will be closed and schools will be disrupted.
Thousands of workers are on strike today demanding pay rises and better pensions. The latest draft budget offers a pay rise below inflation and lower pension contributions.
A march this afternoon will cause road closures and diversions.
It will start near the Les Grottes area of the city at 16:30 this afternoon and end at the Place de Neuve – crossing the Mont Blanc Bridge.
