The city of Geneva has launched a programme to help get young people into the workforce.
Those under 25 who live in the city and searching for work will be entitled to a one-off payment of CHF 1,000 a year.
The cash can be used for training, getting a driving licence, buying clothes for a job interview or buying essential computer equipment.
To qualify, the applicant can’t be in a training programme already, must have a secondary school diploma and show financial hardship.
