France re-opens a little today

France reopens a bit from today. Terraces can serve food and drink – at 50% capacity and a maximum of 6 people a table.

Also reopening are non-essential shops, cinemas, theatres and museums – but again at a reduced capacity. And the curfew is pushed back 2 hours until 9pm.

But France is still struggling with a high infection rate of around 14,000 a day. 108,000 have died in the country.

But the vaccination rate is building – 29 million doses have been administered and over 13% of the population are now fully vaccinated.
