To mark ‘Movember’ this year, the Geneva University Hospital is holding free examinations and consultations for prostate and testicular cancer.
Other tests, for example cardiovascular disease, will also be offered.
Movember is designed to raise awareness of cancer, especially for men.
Men are encouraged to grow a beard or moustache during the month of November.
Prostate cancer is the most common male cancer in the country, affecting more than 6,000 every year. It mainly strikes men in their 70s.
Testicular cancer is less common, but still 470 are diagnosed every year. That affects younger men, most are under 50 when a tumour is found.
The free consultations will be at the hospital every Friday during November – you will need to make an appointment.
