Canton Geneva has issued a questionnaire to parents about their attitude to the current school holidays.
It’s a response to a more general school survey held last year, when 52% of families said they would be in favour of a review on school breaks.
The canton has already made one change a couple of years ago when the easter holiday was extended by a week and the summer shortened by the same time – so now school starts in August.
Parents are given several options. Stay the same, restore the 2022 calendar – before the easter break change and swap the length of the easter and October breaks.
There’s also a question on how to handle the Ascension and Jeûne genevois holidays.
