The 2022 Climate Show closes today at the Palexpo in Geneva. The aim of the show is to give a platform to those small companies developing energy saving technologies.
The 2020 edition of the show had to be cancelled at the last minute due to Covid, and the show’s director, Nadia Plata, says the pandemic had a devastating effect on small innovative companies – 60% of them have gone bust over the last two years.
But two Swiss companies won awards for their inventions. One in Geneva, E-nno, has developed an AI based system to monitor heating systems.
Around 200 buildings have been equipped and the firm claims it can save 17% of energy use.
A Biel based company, Joulia, has a new shower drain which collects warm water which then heats cold water. 6,000 apartments are fitted with the device.
