The government have set the dates and issues to be voted on in the second half of the year.
Voters will head to the polls on September 28 to decide on two key issues: the new electronic ID law and the abolition of imputed rental value tax, which could pave the way for a property tax on second homes.
Then on November 30, several hot-button topics will be on the ballot.
These include the inheritance tax initiative, proposing a 50% tax on estates over 50 million francs to fund climate protection.
Also up for vote is the “Committed Switzerland” initiative, which would require all citizens to do voluntary public or environmental service.
And, if enough signatures are validated by next week, voters will decide whether to overturn increased press subsidies via changes to the Postal Services Act. The law allows for newspapers and magazines posted to subscribers to get cheaper postal rates.
