The Federal Council is holding an emergency meeting later today to discuss how the government should handle the new Covid strain.
While there have not been any formal announcements of what measures will be discussed, it’s possible there could be new limits on private gatherings and cutting the validity of negative tests from 48 hours to 24.
It’s also thought mandatory mask wearing will be expanded and there’s a chance of a return to a recommendation that people should work from home if possible.
It’s expected there will be a press conference later this afternoon after the Council meeting.
